Mimosa Cake Recipe

The mimosa cake is dedicated to women and is the most cooked cake for the party of women, but also for Mother's Day! Here are the directions for its preparation.

Ingredients for sponge cake


170 g of flour
200 g of sugar
40 g of butter
6 eggs
salt
a teaspoon of vanilla extract
for the custard:

500 of milk
100 g of sugar
4 egg yolks
25 g of flour
lemon peel
It should also be the whipped cream, a bit 'of rum or orange juice to wet the sponge.



Prepare the sponge cake

Separate the yolks from the whites, mount only the egg yolks with the sugar. Combine the flour with vanillin, melt the butter and gradually joined the dough of the flour with the egg yolks and vanilla to the melted butter. Whip the egg whites and add to mixture. Pour into a buttered and floured rotate and cook for 40 minutes at 180 °. Turn off the oven and let stand a few minutes before removing it, then remove from the rotate and let cool.

Add the whipped cream that has cooled, wet the sponge cake with rum or orange juice as you prefer. Spread the custard on the discs of sponge cake that you cut and put one on the top. The result should be an alternating discs of sponge cake with cream.

With the cream advanced cover the exterior of the cake, in the sides of the circumference and above. Take the crumbs or cubes that are made when you have dug out the sponge and attach the outside of the cake, there where you spent the cream and also above.

Sprinkle the surface with icing sugar!
